I checked if my phone will work at Virgin Mobile's website below:

Try it.

I phone Question

I have a CDMA I pHone from the US. I'm moving to Toronto July 30th. What carrier would u recommend?

Before we arrived my sister bought me a pre-paid Virgin mobile from Walmart and added a $100 Rogers voucher to it. The credit is valid for 12 months, plus the phone also had a $20 credit with it. I don't know enough people in Canada to worry about using all that credit, and I don't have to add more credit until next year now. Its ideal for potential employers to contact me.....not quite as great as the IPhone I had in the UK, but contracts are so expensive here!!!

Yes, it'd work.

Try Mobilicity. Although they are not nationwide, they have very good coverage in Toronto and other major cities.

I got a kick ass plan through them in Toronto. I pay $40 bucks plus tax for unlimited calling to Canada and States, unlimited texting to Canada and States and unlimited data. I got an HTC Panache smart phone from them as well. I am not locked into a contract with them either. The only catch was: I paid 300 bucks plus tax to buy the phone (not a bad deal as it is an Android smartphone!). The most useful extra feature of the phone is GPS - it's very useful for TTC timings and estimating time to reach somewhere.

It depends on where you will be in ..like if you are on big cities you can have Rogers as it has a NATIONWIDE coverage..ive read some one mentioned about mobilicity, my sister got one on a cheap plan but it doesnt work well when she is out of town..the reception is poor outside the city limit. i have virigin mobile and sasktel. i use virgin mobile to send message in my home country and the unlimited call after 6PM within canada. Your choice depends on your specific needs..

Go with WindMobile -- especially for a newcomer!
Qorax

Is it possible to use a T-Mobile BB9780 on Wind's network, or will I have to get a new phone?
