Hi,

I am bit confused about the term 'provincial nomination'? As far as I know, you get some nomination from a province. But what is the real benefit of this provincial nomination in getting a job in Canada? Does it guarantee a job? How it help?

Please help me in understanding this.

Thanks in advance...

1. A provincial nomination will give you an additional 600 points while you're still in the EE pool.
2. When successful with your PR application, you will have to reside in the province where you were nominated for a period of time. During this period, provinces have programs in place to help you (and all new immigrants) find affordable accommodation, a job that suit your qualifications and schools for your children. There is a lot if information online that can throw more light on your question.

Wrong. You are required to show intention to settle in the province of nomination at time of landing. But after that, you are free to move anywhere in Canada. (Charter of Right Chapter 6). There is no set period of time you have live.

And provincial and federal government DO NOT provide living support to immigrants. There are help sessions from Service Canada to get you adapted to Canada's culture and society, and Job Bank still exists to look for jobs. That's it.

Nothing is free. Nothing is guaranteed.

Ah good, you are right, I was mis-informed

Of course nothing is free, but an immigrant will not be thrown into the deep end on arrival.Apart from service Canada, other religious, ethnic & social programs are designed within a province to help new immigrants settle in. The onus lies on the immigrant to use these programs to his/her advantage.

Many immigrants came and then had to go back home because they can't make a living. Whether ones immigration is successful (at least economically) all depends on the individual him/herself.
