Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello ALL,
I am in Canada as a visiting PhD student at the University of Calgary in an academic exchange,
I got an admission offer to be a full-time PhD student and I gonna apply from inside Canada as for June, 1st 2014
my question is:
what is meant by "Designated Learning Institution" ?

I searched in the glossary
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/glossary.asp#d

and found this statement:
[Designated Learning Institution: A school in Canada that a student must be accepted at before they can qualify for a study permit (as of June 1, 2014).]
does the Universities included in this definition?
does anybody know about the list of such "Designated Learning Institution" ?
thanks in advance

CIC will be publishing a list on their website nearer the time. If the educational establishment is not on that list, you don't get a study permit. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-changes.asp
A list of designated learning institutions at the post-secondary level will be available on the CIC website by June 1, 2014.

yes this list will include universities colleges etc if they r not on the list then u cannot use their admission letter to apply for study permit. we will know more as june 1 gets closer.

"Each province and territory in Canada is responsible for designating schools at the post-secondary level that may enrol international students on or after June 1.
A list of designated learning institutions at the post-secondary level will be available on the CIC website by June 1, 2014."

Hi.

I would like to know if a study permit is issued just for the college or university that you got the letter of acceptance.

Thank you.

The published codes can be found on the CIC website. Search for study-institutions-list (I can't post links for some reason).
