Hello seniors, I am just very confused about what is "letter of employment"? It is one of the documents that is required in the EE system. But there is no explanation blurb for it, unlike all the other fields. Can anyone shed some light on it? I believe it is different from "Employment offer" and "Reference Letter"?

Thank you very much.

I believe you are referring to Certificate of Employment.
Job offer is not a requirement.

Hello, sir. In the EE system after ITA, there is a required document called "Letter of Employment". It seems I can't upload screenshot in the forum. I wish I can upload a picture to make it clear.

So there are three documents that needs to come from the Employer, according to the EE checklist in my account.

(1) Letter of Employment
(2) Employment Record
(3) Offer of Employment

The (2) and (3) have the explanation, but the (1) doesn't have a explanation blurb there. So I am very confused what "Letter of Employment" is?

Thank you very much

I am guessing it is something akin to an experience letter.

Please read the instructions under "Proof of Work Experience" - the "reference or experience letter" (AKA Letter of employment) has a number of required pieces of information -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

"Employment records" are additional documents that prove your work experience (e.g. T4 or equivalent tax documents, paystubs, contracts, etc.).

The job offer letter is only required if you have the 600 bonus points for an LMIA-approved "valid job offer."

Letter of employment and reference (experience) letter are not the same thing.

Letter of employment is a short letter from your employer stating your current position, starting date, hourly wage, hours per week worked, full-time or part-time. Basically stating the terms of your employment.

This is a good example: http://apartments.about.com/od/apartmenthunting/a/sampleemploylet.htm

[Employer name]
[Employer address]

W.r.t Employment Reference Letter, I got one from my company with required details except payroll details - will include separate letter for that.
Have a look at it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/njvu6gu5j6lszid/Employer%20Reference%20Letter.jpg?dl=0

For IRCC, they are one and the same. The requirements are spelled out here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

"Letter of employment" is an older term but still used in some documents. IRCC appears to now be calling them "experience letters" because of the confusion. But if you look at older posts, you'll see a lot of people talking about the "letter of employment".

I just know that I personally know people who provided that letter in the form I stated, and were approved.
