Well I had applied from ainp when I was H1b in US way back in 2009 .. my file was closed and finally after getting file reopened I got my nomination in Nov 2011 while in my home country india and completed the CIO part in 6 months from there ..recieved the passport with immigration visas today ... thanKs to AINP H1b program ...

Completely newbie to this.. can anyone guide me how to get started to apply for Canadian Immigration... I am on H1B in IT profession... I was browsing the AINP program for H1 B visa holders.. but did not find my degree to be mentioned there... (Information Technology)... is there any other program of this kind... as I believe programs of this kind can expedite the process of getting PR...

My GC here in US is in process.. but like many others.. I think.. it will be too much wait...

Do I need to get with a Lawyer to get started with my PR paper work for Canada.. or can I do it on my own..

Thanks and eagerly waiting for response...

I am afraid to say that AINP for US H1 visa holder is no longer available. The only way to apply NOW is to secure a job in any of the provinces. You can't even apply under FSW category. Good luck.

@panamio2000 , I need to land by july 2013

Ok, I landed at Peace Bridge on Oct 13, 2012. I drove there with my wife and 2 kids from Ohio. We arrived there at 5:30 pm. The officer did not look talkative, just asked three questions:
1. What can I do for you?
2. What is your address in Alberta?
3. What is the phone number there?
After asking the above questions, he just spent whole time on his checking computer and writing information on the COPR forms for us. It took 30 minutes to complete the whole process and I just stood there pretty much nothing to do. Then he asked us to sign off the COPR forms and congratulated us to be Canadian PR. Also briefly talked about the responsibility of PR. Then finally he referred us to go to customs desk for goods to follow.
The female office at customs desk looked at my B4 forms. She stamped the B4 forms, asked me to sign, and gave me the copy. The copy will be used for the goods to follow in the future. Then I was told ready to go.
The whole process is smooth and nice. It took about 45 minutes. I came back today with AVR (H1B visa) without any problem.

Re: What is Happening AINP applying under H1B visa from 2011-2012?

Hi panamio2000,

My AINP-H1B application was received at CIO on May 24, 2012 and they returned my application back to me asking for the birth certificates of mine and my wife. We had actually submitted consulate issued birth certificates initially, but they did not accept those certificates. I am planning to resubmit my application to CIO next week with no-birth certificates and parents affidavits.

Here are my timelines.

Application to Alberta: Aug 19, 2009
Nomination: March 01, 2012
Application to CIO: May 24, 2012
Docs Requested: June 25, 2012

Please share your time lines and keep updated.

Thanks,
Sarayu

Are there any other AINP under the H1B visa still pending for PR? Just checking with old buddies. Thanks

Hi panamio2000,

I am still waiting to hear back from CPP-Ottawa.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

@ Sarayu,
I was under the impression that you had got your PR already??? Are you still waiting for it? Did you pay your RPRF already? Is so, how long ago?

Hello all AINP - US H1B holder applicants,

I am thinking of having a track sheet for the above mentioned category. Also, it would be a nice idea to keep in touch with each other during and after the application process. The idea is to share pertinent information regarding application issues, job search, housing, etc. in Alberta.

I am already in contact with 3 applicants:

Koolkarmaguy, Calgary bound, BKD1969.

If you guys provide me your application timeline, I put together all the information in a track sheet. Please let me know what you think.

Good luck guys.

Hi panamio2000,

I think I have paid my RPRF some time early Feb 2013. I have paid it upfront without being asked for it.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
