Hi.. PLEASE HELP...

I wish to apply under FSWP. I am Assitant Professor at reputed institute affiliated to University. I deliver lectures to graduate and post graduate students for the professional courses like BCA, BBA etc.. Also, I am guest lecturer at some other institutes.
Do I meet the University Lecturer category? Can I apply under 4011?

If so, do I need to get something in written?

Please help.

Thanks.

4011 is only for university professors and lecturers not for those who teach at college level, while the other NOC u mentioned is vocational instructors, college teachers high school teachers etc.

The OP says he is an assistant professor, at an affiliated school, not a University. S/he would have to be employed at the University, not a college.

But I guess as long as he teaches graduate and post-graduate students, he should be fine. He must be having a PhD (or at least Masters degree) in this case.

Doesn't matter as to his credentials, if he doesn't teach at a University, he is not eligible.

In one of the example titles for 4011, Teacher's College is also mentioned.

I have completed my mba and doing my phd.i am teaching in one of the affiliated university college.can I apply under 4011 as 4021 is not listed under fsw 2014 list

I think this is a vague area, that depends on the details of the case. In Canada and the United States, the difference between a college and a university can be blurred. The presence of graduate students, and an orientation that includes at least a little research, are critical. If the college you work at includes these, then go with 4011. If it is entirely undergraduate, and especially if it is only a two-year or vocational institution, go with 4021. It gets confusing, because Canada tends not to have community colleges in the same manner as the US, and the word 'college' here can mean things like Concordia University College (offers master's degrees).

If you are teaching with only a master's degree, then you can't use 4011.

And just a question, what happened to NOC 4131? That's what we came here under, and I don't even see it on the list of NOCs anymore. I think it was a combination of 4011 and 4021, but I'm not sure.

I am also planning to apply under NOC 4011 - University lecturer. I have gathered all the required documents along with proof of funds, English test and ECA reports. However the ECA report I received mentions my MSc degree is equivalent in Canada is 4 years BSc degree!!

I have completed my BSc (3 Years), B.Ed (1 Year) and MSc (2 Years) with distinction grades in all the exams from Indian Unviversity. I also have 6 years experience in the same field.

My query is - Am I still eligible to apply under FSW even my ECA report shows my MSc degree is equivalent as Canadian BSc degree?? Please let me know your responses on urgent basis as I have very little time remaining to send my documents. Your help is much appreciated.

Tough question -- you should start your own thread, with a more precise headline, something like "Education assessed at lower than degree level, how does this affect my application?"

Education officially does not matter -- only work experience matters. But based on a court case, the officer has the RIGHT to consider background information (such as the place where you did you work and your education) into consideration.
