Pre-Arrival letter- Jan 16, 2020

I wrote to the CIC webform asking whether they started my security check and got the following reply:

We verified the information on file and can confirm that:

  • The background verifications are currently valid.
  • The security background verification is currently valid.
  • The criminal background verification is currently valid.

What does this reply imply? Any suggestion regarding the term "currently valid"???

it just part of their internal procedures, nothing to worry about since the background check may occurs not only one time per applicant depends individual's applications. The background verification may be auto-renewed by the agent/system when it became invalid.

How long will they take? I have police reports from Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Nepal.

Were you asked to submit biometrics? We have not been asked to submit it yet. We have been living in Canada since Sept 2016. Still not sure what will happen about it.

No, they didn't ask for biometrics. I am a inland applicant too.
