Hi Qorax,

thanks for all the information you provide on this website.

Timeline: I applied to the Nairobi, Kenya VO under the simplified process for a federal skilled permanent residency. My application was received on 1 Novemberr 2006

I have just received my CAIPS notes and they state that my BF'd date was 16 Oct 2009. I have not heard anything from the VO and it is now 6 months later. What do you think could be the problem?

No Problem. It's just that old cases are back-benchers now, vis-a-vis the 'fast track'. Both follow a different routine & timeframe. Your time has not come-up yet for the meds. Remember, it takes 3-4yrs for the old cases to 'mature'. And CHC-Kenya is no faster. Probably u have got another [maybe few] BF'D by now.

U may however, write an e-mail to your CHC asking for a 'case progress update'. Use either the CIC web-form or their 'direct' mail ID.

Don't worry much... things would be alright, soon !

If the meds reach after the deadline the VO has all jurisdiction to decline the case, w/out having to offer any mercy.

However, usually they do not do so & pay courtesy to the cover letter that u have added reasoning your case delay.

are you sure that the meds should be done AND assessed in the regional visa office within 2 months? My understanding was that the meds should be done by thd applicant within the 60 days of the respective letter and then it is up to the regioanl med office to make the final assessment and input the medical narrative into the system. Given that both of my medical offices (Ottawa -->London) take two months on average to process the medical results, this just does not seem reasonable...

If u have got 60 days to complete your meds... the med results should reach the VO on or before the 60th day. That was the BF'D provided by your VO.

v nice info sharing. thanks a lot....it will certainly calm down few nerves....at least mine.....just hoping that the wait from In Progress to final ends soon. I've sent PP, Meds and RPRF on 20th Apr and waiting for my BF'D to come....

very happy to see your suggestions...i have also similar case...i have sent my full documents to visa office on 8th Oct 2009 an still my ecas showing received by visa office...so, i am bit worried abt my case....already 8 months going to finish.and there is no progress..can you please suggest me what exactly going with my file??is there any problem or its a normal process...

If u have got 60 days to complete your meds... the med results should reach the VO on or before the 60th day. That was the BF'D provided by your VO.

Actually i have a question for u .AS i have withdraw my case as fsw and i recieved aor from cic in that it is written that they will send my checque in 8 to 12 weeks but somebody was saying they will send the ch.in 6 months as it usually takes in withdrawl cases i have to change my house as the owner of this house is asking if i change my house it will take more time i have 3 months in this house to stay .REALLY worried about changing address and waiting for 6 months kindly reply n if u have your msn or yahoo address kindly give me .thanks for every thing.

This is a very informative, I have send my full docs to CHC Islamabad on 20th Jan'2010, after recieving intial AOR from CIO on 14th Jan'2010, since than my E-cas status is "Recieved by Visa Office",I have got some confusions, hope you will clarify;

1. In intial Letter from CIO, Sydney, I been given 120 days to submit all docs, I have submitted all well before the 120 days time, also my file was transfered to CHC Isl on 22 Jan'2010, So its mean CO will not look my file until the 120 days lapsed or he will follow the BF'D mentioned on file.

2. As you know most of Pakistani applications have been moved to CHC London, near about 12000/-, Its obsereved that since September'09, none of the Pakistani applications have been moved to "In Process" stage neither they got Office V-call, so its mean that these "Under review" files have BF'D after April '2010 intentially, as this is the date onward all Pakistani applications would go to London.

3. Can CHC initaite the Background check even the status is "Recieved by V-Offcei", wish it could be, as already 4 months passed, and no reply from either Islamabad or London CHC regarding status.

4. If I order my CAIPS, will it show when my file will be open and or become "In-Process" by looking CAIPS.

i am also same your case sep 2009 case and about your BF'D is the day of your last date of your 120 days so your file is open and it under review so dont worry and do not apply for caips you will not get any information.now how you my think why i am saying this because check my signature i have apply for caips and got it last week there is no future BF'd the date was shown is the date of my last date of 120 days so i hop you understand and plz wait till you my complete 9 months from the day you submit you application to CIO and if you want to apply caips apply after you case chenge to IN PROCESS good lcuk.

Thanks a lot for your detail answer, so you mean to say BF'D will be the last date since we apply to CIO, sydney for intial assessment, so this should be 10 March'10 for me , as I have sent my application to CIO on 10th Nov,2009.


I am afraid it will start from the 2nd AOR letter date in which 120 days period deadline is mentioned.

Kindly correct me if I am taking it wrong.

for example in first you received at 10th nov 2009 from cio and they said you have to submit full application to visa office within 120 days which has last date is 10th march 2010. so what CIO has did with your file think they just complete your assesment and put and first BF'D for Visa Office which is 10th March 2010 so when you submit your full application to visa office within 120 days Visa officer will lock-in your file one 10th march 2010 not befor if you did not send your full document befor 10th march 2010 your file will be refusd and close so that was the story and and about second AOR VO will open the file and send you new file number with visa office timeline i got second AOR with new time they said your application need 8 to 12 months to finalize so its means they will not contect me befor 8 month from they day or first second AOR. i hop you got the point.
