Yes, some countries are required to submit original documents. We chose not to send originals except for PCC in case our file was misplaced. If they lost our file my wife would only need to obtain a new PCC and we would still have the entire application ourselves to resubmit.

Btw $65 is not so bad. Ours cost over $100 from Ottawa to CPC-M lol. Although our app weighed 11lbs.

Though some people can access it a few days after AOR and some don't get communication from CIC until SA. Also given that the efforts to process things faster have started and yet the processing times website hasn't budged from 13 mon the for Philippines, and the SA time has kept increasing from 37 days to around 57 I think last time I checked. Sigh...

As I tell everyone, do not put any faith in posted processing times. It is entirely inaccurate. 13 months doesn't mean that's the standard processing time for the Philippines. It means CIC processed 80% of applications within 13 months. With a strong and straight forward application it will take much less. My friend on the forum has a Thai wife. Posted time is 29 months for Thailand. It took 8 months from app filed to visa stamped.

Are you sure your ECAS isn't working? The UCI they give in AOR1 is for the sponsor. Just in case you aren't trying so already, enter the sponsor's personal details with the UCI.

We are on our 6th month now from Manila VO..and it has hardly moved at all Starting to think the 12-13 month average is a pretty accurate one. Although when we applied in end of January the sponsorship approval wait time was 32 days and they were finishing sponsorship approval in like 20-30 days. But now it says 53 days sponsorship approval time. We hope optimally it will be about 8 months for us...good luck to both of us!

and yes ImABule !! july 23! can't wait...was so disappointing with the ninja date change the day they were supposed to update it in june pushing this awesome change 2 months. I cross my fingers we get to see it july 23!!!

Yeah, I can't remember when I could get on ECAS or I'd let you know.

What I do know though, is on ECAS it says they started processing the SA the day after AOR1.

May I ask what the significance of July 23 is? You mentioned in in a few posts above and linking your paper file to your wife's myCIC account, is it some policy change that's happening on that day or something?

On July 23 we will be able to link our paper PR applications to this account.

It will allow us to see a much more in depth look at the processing of the application than ECAS provides.

You should be able to, my wife was also refused a TRV/Study Permit.

Her GCKey works just fine.
