what is a transcript??

hi guys,

I want to know,

1. What is transcript??

2. whether every college and university ask for transcript??

3. whether i can send transcript along with the admission documents ,or university will directly send to other university(in canada) ?

4. whether i hav to send photocopy of transcript(coz if i get a single transcript ,then i can only apply in one university) Or the original transcript??
