I Sponsored my wife and the application is already in manila. My wife received a letter that she must submit the passport and other documents like NSO cenomar. The letter was just received 2 days ago and the letter was sent Dec 5. Maybe because of the christmas holiday the letter was delayed. The letter gave us 45 days to submit the documents. That means Jan 19 will be the deadline. Problem is wife has an old passport not expired yet but they need the new red philippine passport. She went yesterday to get the new one and was told it will take 2-3 weeks. I'm afraid we will miss the deadline. Will it greatly affect the processing if we submit it like 3 or 4 days later after the deadline? Please we need some help !

I expect you will be fine. I suggest instead of the passport (which you don't yet have), send them a letter (or email if you'd prefer) and explain to them why you can't send it yet, all the circumstances (the late letter) and when you expect you will be able to send it. Be sure to include the applicant's name and immigration file number on the letter, so they know what file this goes with. I would guess you will not get a reply from them, but your letter will be added to the file and everything will be just fine. Don't worry :)

the good point is that they usually reply to this kind of letters accepting the reason of delay. just keep smiling.

When you received the letter from Manilla acknowledging your application, did they send you some stickers to affix to any correspondence to them? Hong Kong sent some to us; the stickers allow them to scan into their system any receipts of mail from us.

If so, don't forget to affix a sticker.

yes .. my wife told me that there was a sticker .She put all the stickers on the form.Thank you for sharing your thoughts. That helped alot !
