Hello,

What level of IELTS test shoudl I take. i see a lot of different type of tests. General/Academic etc.

Also, at what point do i need to show the proof of funds and how much?

Only General is accepted for IELTS.

You must show proof of funds when you submit the original application.

Original application? Meaning when i first file correct?

How much of funds do I need to show?

Proof of funds – Federal skilled workers

It would really be in your interest to at least read the information listed at the Determine your eligibility – Federal skilled workers site.

C) Six selection factors

If you meet all the conditions set out in sections A and B above, we will process your application based on the six selection factors in the skilled worker points grid.Footnote 1 They are:

your skills in English and/or French, Canada's two official languages,
your education,
your work experience,
your age,
whether you have arranged employment in Canada, and
your adaptability (how well you are likely to settle here).
To see how many points you might get, read about the selection factors <---------

If you are not sure if you should apply as a skilled worker, try the ***Come to Canada Wizard to get an idea if your application would be eligible to be processed.

Thank you for the reply.

One last question: My daughter is US citizen, do I need to apply for her immigration as well? And how about funds ?

If she is a dependent, then yes - you must include her in your application and yes, you must include her when calculating the amount of proof of funds you must show.
