My husband is going to come here in December to stay while we wait out the final months of our process.

What do I need to know here?

What do I tell the border? What do I bring as evidence? What does he need to show he'll return to the states if he's not approved within six months?

Do I notify Buffalo that his address is now mine, that he is staying with me and to send requests/approvals to my home?

Thanks everyone, just want to be prepared as best as I can.

Since he is coming from the states just make sure he has enough money in his account to support himself have all the proof you applied for the PR including proof of the fees tell them your in Process and ar sure it will be done soon, and that your husband is coming to visit for a little bit,do not say he is coming to live with you till the process is done, and to change the mail from his place to yours will prove harder than you think,as most times people do not get answers from the visa office for a change of address. You might want someone checking in on the post at his old place and have them forward it to you as it may not get changed dont assume it will.
As for the border nobody knows what the POE will ask or say so make sure he also has ties to the US a lease,a job, children left behind a doctors appointment to return for.And make sure your not dragging a UHAUL trailer behind you full of his things he cant move here legally tillhe is a PR so you bringing all his things willnot work.

Follow iablue's advice then...

When he arrives, send Buffalo (I'm assuming) a case specific inquiry to change his MAILING address, not his residential address. Then carefully watch the email account for emails from Buffalo. Once you email them you give them permission to contact you via email and his PPR request may come as an email. Mine did.

What else can I use as proof that he will return? He obviously will quit his job, doesn't have a place of his own. He's living with his parents so he can save money for when he moves here for good.

Additionally, unless your husband is in a menial job, he should not quit. He should get a leave or use vacation so that he can get a letter stating his need to return.

If he is in a menial position, CIC will consider that to not be proof of reason to return.

Just be careful, you will encounter enough trouble with him not having a residence.

He does have a residence with his parents, his mail is shipped there and it's his address on his ID.

What if I say he's staying for 3 months as a visit? He already stayed for 2 months without a problem and left exactly when we told the border he would. He's visited me three times in total: once for two weeks, once for three, once for two months... each time he left exactly when he stated he would.

What exactly would he need from an employer?

he would need the employer to explain how long is his vacaction time or how long his abscense leave is, length of time working there, position and income.

usually what they want is a trong tie to his country and housing is one strong one since you dont have it work or school are the second options
