Hi,

What happens if we assume an NOC is appropriate for our job and apparently it isn't? Is this penalized? Does this have any impact on our application? My job description falls between both NOC 2132 (A) and NOC 9212 (B). If I proceed with 2132 and obtain experience letter from my employer. Would IRCC come back and refuse to accept it?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Wr

If your NOC isn't correct, your application will be rejected. There's no further penalty like a ban or anything like that for choosing the incorrect NOC.

Your experience letter has to match the majority of duties in the NOC you choose, plus any other mandatory requirements such as a college degree, professional license etc (depends on the NOC).

Thanks for your response. My issue is that for my other experience as well, duties fall under two different categories - 0911 (Manufacturing manager) and 1122 (Prof. in business management consulting). What should I do? It's literally 50% of each :/

please advise

Pick one that makes most sense based on documentation you have (for ex your job duties/responsibilities). Note that 0 nocs are usually people managers which usually have folks reporting. maybe that helps clarify?

Agreed, pick the one that makes the most sense and can be validated easily.
