I just found a very very very informational post on here on exactly how someone put together their application package and now I'm all worries because I'm thinking "oh no what do I forget what should I have put in what didn't I put in was what I have enough or not enough etc" and on this post someone said do not use staples however I used staples to keep together all forms that had more than one page... Everything else was clipped together with big alligator clips. Our package was finally delivered to the case processing center in Mississauga and now after looking over that post I feel as if I'm a bit more disorganized than the rest. I did not use fancy taps and separate everything into separate envelopes, alls that us seperating each section of the application is the clips, and I did not include my own table of contents either like others did. I hate to have to compare myself to others since we are all different and do things differently ... But I'm stuck in this freakin hurricane disaster with no power for 4 days straight left to think "did I do everything right?" Now that I think of it I wish I organized more than I did but then at he same time I didn't wanna over do it and have it take longer to assess my application just cause there was so many extra unneeded papers to flip through lol. My package was over 300 pages and weighed 3.2 pounds in the package... We have only been together for a year and 4 months, does that sound like enough proof for a relationship of that length of time?

Hey bscinto92,

first of all - hope you're safe after the hurricane and things are not too chaotic where you live...

Don't worry about how you presented things - as you stated, everybody is different... but I know how you feel. Reading some of the posts here on how people organised their application made me feel like the most inorganised person - but I'm not, and you're probably not either. So you'll be fine!

When the application arrives in Mississauga, apparently a lot of the documents get scanned, so any staples etc have to be taken away - that's why it says "no staples" - it makes their job easier. But if you did use staples in some part of your application, nothing happens - apart from the fact that it might take them an extra 5min to take them away when they open your package... separate envelops and taps are the same - they will be removed once they get to CPC Mississauga, so in that sense it's best you didn't include them in the first place! :)

300 pages seems quite comprehensive, but of course it's difficult to tell you if it's enough or not, because it depends on what is in these 300 pages! but trust that you have done a good job - and relax. There is nothing to do now, and if CPC wants more documents, or a clarification on something, they'll ask for it. So until you get asked - just assume that it is enough...

It's normal to think like this though - i think everybody goes through the same phase, once the application has been sent off to CPC, and there is only waiting left, you've probably reviewed a million times your application in your head...

So - try to relax, and you'll be fine!
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks for the positive feedback Sweden.... I guess I should have a little more faith in CIC and trust that they're not just gonna look at my application and say "denied" without at least scheduling an interview. I know that there's always a second chance to prove to them at least once!

indeed! unless you are completely out of the criteria, or have given them no information, they won't deny you. If they have doubts for the first stage, they'll contact you and ask about more documents, and same for the second stage - the VO will either ask for more documents, or for an interview. So you have plenty of opportunities to let them know about your relationship.... which VO are you going through?
It's hard to have faith in CIC though, as they are not very reliable in the way they communicate...

You had 300 pages!? My god...what did you do? Transcribe every word of every spoken conversation you ever had?

Why are people so overly-paranoid about this whole process? If they want/need more information from you, they'll ask you for it. But what could you have possibly needed to send them in 300 pages?

Some had A LOT more. Not all cases are very straightforward. I have a friend who sponsored her husband from Mexico, he had traveled quite a bit so the addresses and police checks took up a lot. Their package was around 500 pages. It's all on what the sponsor and applicant feel is best suited to present their case, period.

Lol I know I thought it was a little crazy too until I saw that there was some people who had more than 400 pages... I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm overly paranoid about it just a tad bit paranoid... I guess I just have a lot to prove about my love for this man just as he does for me and I'm certainly not afraid to brag to immigration about it lol. I mean I'm not 100 percent sure if t was 300 but at least 250.... A lot of it was photos.... 4 to a page and tere was over 150 of them with descriptions ( we take lots of photos cause TD one of our favorite things to do) and then the phone bills... We talk a lot so tere was at least 75 pages of phonecallls and txt messages and that's even with taking out a lot of them.. Wbhe put lots of chatlogs and Skype screenshots to show how we are with each other on a regular basis. Idk how it ended up to be as much as it was but it did. We also had a lot to explain about our love and how at genuine... Because for as short as our relationship may be so far, there has been lots that happened that has brought us so muh closer together including me saving his life from a terrible eating disorder :) It was actually nice to go through the entire history of our relationship and recollect on all the good times. And for Sweden.. It would have been buffalo but now its CPP Ottawa. Are they usually one o he easier visa offices to deal with?

Also if anyone was curious about the hurricane, homes are literally destroyed along the shore here on Connecticut and those of us away from the coastline are going on day 5 without power
