What happens after PR email ?

Hello, I am in a bit of a conundrum here. I have Indian passport and I am on work permit.

I got the email today from CIC, and they are asking to submit my passport, photo, etc for PR within 30 days. I heard that, if i submit all my documents, I will get my passport back in 2 or 3 weeks and have to do a border crossing, surrender my work permit to get PR confirmation and after that i have to wait around 2 months to get my PR card, and during this time i cannot travel outside Canada.

Now my problem is, the company I am working for has scheduled two U.S trips for me (i have u.s visa), first two weeks of June and whole July. I gave the confirmation (without thinking about PR) to my company as all others are in vacation and they want me to go. I never thought i'll get this email so quick, as i only applied for PR in April. So now why are they asking for my passport, and my guess is that they will cancel my multiple entry Canada visa and give me a single entry Canada visa. And if i cancel my June trip and send my passport now and get it back before July. Can I travel to U.S.A in July and come back to Canada, and on landing surrender my work permit and get that PR confirmation. And after that till i wait for my PR card, Can i travel to U.S.A and come back.

I am afraid, i'll get fired from my company if i tell them i cannot travel for 2 months, especially during my first 3 months probationary period .... as travel is crucial in my work and just now i joined this company.... If they don't cancel my multiple entry visa, i can do this PR landing thing on July end when i return to Canada.

What are my options....

If I were you I would do that.

1. Do not submit Passport now.
2. Go for June trip. Come back and submit passport for PR stamping.
3. Probably you will recieve the PP in two weeks as this is the standard timeline. End of June you should have your PP in your hand.
4. Go for July trip and on your way back complete the landing procedure.

That is what I am thinking as well.. but the problem is i am in a remote village in BC, and if i send my passport say in June 3rd week, it will take 3 days to get to Ottawa, and 3 days for return....so 1 week for journey itself... so i doubt that i will get my passport back within July trip... as there is Canada day coming in the middle as well....

That might be risky then. I would recommend for Priority Xpress Post as it delivers in One day all over Canada.

If nothing works out then send email to them regarding your concern and ask for extension. I am sure they will help you out.
