According to my CAIPS notes request, I had a bring forward date of June 24th 2009, when should I expect to hear from Buffalo and what should I expect? Anyone who had a bring forward date on their file can you please share the time frame if you heard anything since your date? I submitted entire file on March 2008 and received AOR in June 2008. Since then nothing happened to my file. I applied for CAIPS notes and this is when I found out about the bring forward date of June 2009? Anyone with similar experience? Please please share...thanks

does not seem like they take the bf dates seriously or else you would have heard something. I was kind of banking on it since mine is Oct 3rd 09. What a bummer! Keep us posted if you hear something.

1. The BF date is not for the IO to send you something.
2. The BF date is placed on the file, so that if something, such as background security check, which the officer feels will take 4 months that is the BF date. So the file is brought out on that date to see if the check has arrived and if it hasn't the officer would follow up with CSIS. If the Background check arrived BEFORE the BF date, the file is supposed to be automatically forwarded to the officer. The BF date is just a fail safe, in the cases where documents arrive for the file and they are just placed on the file, without bringing it to the officers attention.

TO parkarasif :
I would probably order CAIPS file to see what is going on with your file. If your file was sent to LA in Jan 09 then u should have heard something because after they transfer the files they state on most letters to wait ninety days before getting a response from the visa office. From most discussions this far I heard people whose files were transferred to LA had interviews. I would definitely order CAIPS notes. Just to be sure u never know. I had a relative order it for me from Canada but there are websites (try to google it) available online to order. It took two months before I received a response from Buffalo and all I got was the BFF date.

To PMM :
Thank you for your response. I goggled BFF date and it stated that this is when the formal assessment takes place. According to your response it might just be a date waiting to see if their requested documents came in right? Does nothing really happen on or around this date? So depressing. Also in terms of immigration language, what exactly does formal assessment mean? I do not know...I am soo confused. I assume it is all about waiting...tick tock tick tock...thanks everyone..good luck

Any news carigirl? I am watching your case and hoping you receive something since I have my hopes pinned on my bf date.

It has been 2 months since my BF date and still have not heard from Buffalo. I tried contacting them and got the regular computer generated response indicating that nothing has changed with the status of my file since my acknowledgement letter.
Still keeping my fingers crossed...
