Catherine27,

UCI stands for Unique Client Identifier and given to you by CIC. That's how CIC identifies every applicant. From now on, if you make any future communication with CIC, make sure you indicate that number in your letters or forms you fill in.

However, if you are applying to CIC for the first time, you will not yet have a UCI. If that is the case, and you are filling out a form that asks for one, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided. If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to input “N/A,” leave the space blank.

Cheers!

Your UCI number (from TRV) should have been indicated by you on the FSW forms. But no need to worry, they will figure it out.

Thanks for answers.

This is the second time I apply for TRV, the first time it was granted without any problem but it expired with my passport. Now, I apply 2 months ago and they have request twice for additional documents and this second time the email came with the UCI number.

It is not nice from immigration to have request twice for many add documents. I am collecting all papers for permanent residence application family sponsorship class and I wrote that in the letter for TRV. Now, CIC ask me for almost the same evidences that I should send for permament residence application. It is just a turist visa that I already got before with good travel record.

I got worried about UCI number because I know CIC give it for FAmily sponsorship application.

Thanks for your help :)

UCI number should not be the reason to worry about as UCI is not given only in case of sponsorship application but rather every one who makes any type of application to cic (work permit, visitor extension, sponsorship, refugee claim, TRV, TRP or any other immigration document) gets a UCI number. Each time a person makes an application to cic he gets a different file number but the UCI number remains the same. its sort of a unique code/ identification number attached to you which will be having all your cic/immigration applications recorded in it. In future when ever you will send your PR/family sponsor application you can use the same UCI number (even if you don't mention it you will still get the same UCI as that's how CIC system will identify you).
your previous visa/application also had the same UCI number but you never noticed it for the reason that you may not got any communication or document requests from cic previously.
so nothing to worry about and provide them all the documents they are requesting and hope for the best.

i hope it helps

Thanks for the explanation

Now, after this long process for TRV, only rest to wait for other answer. Hopefully, a positive answer.

Never happened to me a similar process for tourist visa to other country.

;)
