What does this mean?

I sent CIC ottawa a email asking the status of my application after I seen a decision made on 21 Feb. 2016. This was their reply.

Dear Sir/Madam,



Your application has been finalized and your documents were returned to you by regular mail on 2016/02/26.



We thank you for your patience. In order to efficiently process requests, we will not reply to duplicate emails.

It simply means your case has been processed and decision has been made. Hopefully you will receive your passport request soon so keep checking your email inbox & spam folder. They won't tell you if the decision is a yes or no, you will only know when you get your email.

Had me a little worried the way they worded it. Sounded like they are returning my documents.

My husband got a few of our documents back a few days before Ecas was updated with Decision Made and then I got my passport request a few days later. Its a good sign
