What does it mean? Decision made?

I checked my status today and it shows

Sponsored Person Sponsorship Application Status Permanent Residence Application Status
XXXmywife'snameXXX Decision Made Application Received


I had mailed my application to CPC Mississauga and end of May, last time I checked around the 6th July it was "in process"

Now its "Decision Made" does that mean it will now be sent to Singapore???? it says the decision was made July 10 and they would send me a letter. I'm away from home for a few weeks with work so I have no idea what the letter would say.


Anyone else who has gone through this process know what this means? I hope it means my application is sent to Singapore VISA office but if so wouldn't it say "Application forwarded to Visa Office" instead? since this was decided on the 10th and today is the 25th I'm wondering does this mean that there is an issue with my application?

Bellow is a table of what "Decision Made" could be.

We have made a decision on your sponsorship application. We will inform you in writing of the decision.

Application Forwarded to Visa Office

We will inform you in writing of the decision made on your sponsorship application. We will send you a Permanent Resident Kit that you will need to forward to the family class relative you are sponsoring.

it says the same for me : sponsorship, decision made, a letter has been sent. It doesn't say that the application has been forwarded to the VO, but it says so on the email( sponsorhsip came by mail, not snail mail). So I would assume that the letter is on its way.

Maybe you can call them and ask - if the decision has been made on the 10th of July and it's 2 weeks later, safest is to try and call them to check.

Usually that means approval for stage 1, (but not always). Under the "sponsorship application status", it will remain at Decision Made. Some Visa Offices send AOR's but others don't, so under the "Permanent Residence Application Status", it will remain at "application received" until a visa officer opens it, at which time it should change to "in process".

You won't know for sure until you open the letter, but it sounds like you've been approved for stage 1. Did you provide an email address because sometimes the "decision made" letter gets sent to your email instead of normal mail?

what does it say when you click on decision made....does it say a letter has been forwarded??? It says your application has been fowarded to the VO office so that is usually a good sign. You should hear something soon!!!!

I recived the AOR by email saying that my package had been recived in mississaga etc.

What I am/was concerned about is that they sent a letter instead of another email.

As for clicking on the link Decision made, it just sends me to that list of possible meanings for it without actually telling me anything.

I think there is less then a 1% chance I'll be rejected as a sponsor as I make a decent income, never been married, and have a high level government security clearance.

Only issue I would be worried about is if they needed more paperwork but then I assume that would mean they wouldn't have enough to make a decision in that case.

You're right. If they required more paperwork, it wouldn't say decision made yet.

I think you're fine. The transfer date to the visa office will be the same date as the decision made date.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Would have been nice if the tracking system on CIC was more clear.... or actually had some one/way of being held accountable.

I'm almost thinking maybe I'm working for the wrong Fed Government department hahaha

Can any one help me I have a similar problems I have got a decision made and also when I click the decision made it states that imigration of Canada sent me a letter by mail delivery and it's been 20days that I didn't get it. Please help .
