Im someone looking forward to start my student life in canada, this fall 2014.

As i went through many University and College websites i saw each subjects got some specific credits.
Can some one tell me about that specific word, ' Credit '.

Im from india so dont have much idea about all these. Also i have heard that in Canada or US or UK practical studies are more than theories.
Is that so.

Looking forward for a Good reply!

Thank you!

I presume it's different for each institution but where I am, if a course has a credit of 3 it means I have 3 class hours per week. A class hour at my college is 55 mins.

for engineering bachelors u have to complete 160-164 credit hours,, for business its like 120,, if subject has 3 credit hours it means it will be taught 3 hours per week,, even if ur from India there must be some specified credit hours for each course,,

Expect to do roughly 2-3 hrs of homework for every class hour.
