What Does Background Verification Really Means

Hello Seniors ,
Can any one of you explain me what exactly Background verification is

My File has been in que for second review from August 2014 and till now i did not get any response.I have applied GCMS and VO has mentioned that the LOE does not match some duties.So i have updated with detailed duties and sent the letter in January 2015.
Last week i have contacted my local MP , and she replied me back that currently Background verification is going on your file from past 5 months(from august 2014) and we can do nothing on that part.

Have you got your MR? If not, your eligibility is still pending for sure. I guess background verification means security check which may cost 8-12 months.

No , i did not receive my medicals yet.No kind of request/Update on my file after AOR

First, they would verify the details on your Schedule A - Background Declaration. Some people have more background details to check than others; some people come from countries where details are easy to verify, others from countries where it is difficult. Some people have lived in multiple countries... Some people have never been married, others may have 5 ex-wives.... so the time varies for everyone.

But she probably also meant criminality and security checks, which can take a variable amount of time for the same reasons.

It seems it has all to do with your eligibility of qualifying work experience! Be ready for presenting more details of your work and good luck!

Yes i am ready to provide any kind of more required details.BUT the issue is i haven't got any request till now.It has been 15 months yet no response.
patiently waiting and not sure when i will get a request from CIC

Hi Akil_f1,

I noticed that you have sent to CIC more details in a letter form. Does you GCMS notes say that the letter has been received, if you have a GCMS notes processed after the letter would have reached?

Or what proof you have that the letter has been delivered to CIC?

I have mailed CIC a month after the letter sent , requesting about the letter and the current status of the app.
And they confirmed that they received the letter and currently Background verification is gng on and at this point of time we are unable to provide the processing time frame
