I don't have experience since I'm not at that stage yet but here is a simple answer.
Take with you ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that you think may help you make your case. If it's too heavy for you have someone carry the documents with you till the interview location's entrance or rent a U-Haul van. You have nothing to loose if you take too many docx with you but you may be in trouble if they want to see only one doc and you don't have it.
Make sure you take the originals of any document you initially submitted and translations of stamps if any.

Bring all the original documents you initially submitted with your application.
I brought a bunch of unrequested documents to my interview and was told that unless I had been requested to bring them I shouldn't have done so.

I had my test on 19-Mar at St Clair office. After writing the test, I was told to wait for an interview. I had to wait for about 45 min. Then an officer called my name. The interview was basically for checking identity and knowledge of English. After greeting, the officer told me that I had passed my test. Then I showed (1) PR card, (2) Landing Paper, (3) Driver's Licence, (4) Health Card, and (5) Passport. The officer checked these documents against the photocopies in the file. She went through the passport but did not check each and every stamp. Then she asked me a few simple questions about my occupation and family. It was over in about 10 min. After that she told me that a citizenship judge will make a decision about my application and that I may hear from CIC in about 2-4 weeks.

Here is my timeline.

CIC received application Aug 2012
CIC started processing Dec 2012
Test taken Mar 2014
