What do I do if I can't remember accurate dates for my residence calculator?

So I'm preparing for my citizenship application and I know that I've easily met the quota for days spent in Canada as its been over 3 years since I received my PR.

The problem is that I have done a lot of travelling over the years including many short trips over the border and well as overseas and now I don't have an accurate recollection of the exact dates that I entered/exited the country. When filling out the online residence calculator I've attempted to go through my passports and calendars and emails to take a best 'guess' but I know that it's not 100% accurate which would be deemed as fraudulent (although by accident!) by Immigration Canada.

What should I do? I've read somewhere that I should request a history of entries to the CBSA but then I came across this conflicting FAQ answer on the GIC.CA website that states:

"Do I need to ask the Canada Border Services Agency for a history of entries when applying for citizenship?

No. Check the “Yes” box for Question 9D “History of Entries to Canada” on your citizenship application. This will give us permission to get your history of entries from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). It will also take less time than you asking the CBSA for your history.

We use your history of entries to make sure that you have been in Canada long enough to qualify for citizenship.

If you do not check the “Yes” box, you may be asked to send a request for personal information to the CBSA to get your history of entries. Doing this may make the time to process your application longer than the routine processing times for citizenship."

I'm sure I'm not the only one is having/has had this problem so there must be a solution. Any help is appreciated!

1. Get your CBSA records and see if that helps.

2. If you don't remember exact dates check the following link:

You can mention dates as approximate
