what course to choose - to obtain study permit (after 1 rejection)

Hello All,

Recently I have done my Masters in computer networking (UK) and wish to apply for May 2013 intake. My query is :

How much is chances of Visa rejection? As i have already done my Masters from London UK.

i had recently applied for wireless networking PG diploma (Jan 13 Intake) but got rejected by visa officer stating reason ' Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of the following: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans."

I had provided GIC's worth 10000CAD$ as a proof towards my living exp. and had paid full fees of college.


2.Which course would be a better option & what possible options can i have to get a study permit, coz my aim is to get a PR.

can any of you please suggest any course ?? considering that my future plans are for obtaining PR.... and i already hold a Msc degree from UK

what would be a better option:

1. MBA
2. Msc in internetworking.
3. PG Dip in project management (centennial college)

ALSO IF ANY1 COULD GUIDE ME HOW TO GET A PR using the study route (after doing masters)

i am not sure if i can sucessfully complete the PHD and come up with a new research.

PhD is a good step after Msc. And it will easy for them to understand your intention too.
And if you study well passing PhD won't be problem for you.
It will help in good jobs too.

Don't worry with 1 time rejection . It's normally happen with overseas students ( Who studied out side India and come back and applied Canada student visa) .Pl opinion is that , pl, DON"T DON"T DON"T change your college and course, because it's a similar to your proposed and previous study . My suggestion is that PUT again file with the same documents and make very Stronger SOP ( statement of purpose ) and put file with General code and as soon as possible.

thanks for all your contribution to my case........ i have ordered for CAIPS and am waiting to know the reason (c0mments of the officer ON MY FILE), unfortunately i have changed my course to project management coz i got influenced by the talks of my agent after refusal.....

PHD - is it really hard to crack.....???

also would appreciate if you could comment on the project mgmt course i selected after refusal on wireless course.........shall i file using the project management course or again take refund and submit using wireless with a stronger SOP.......

I think U have opted similar studies(wireless n/w'g) to which u have chosen in masters...; that's y ur's is rejected I think..., m not sure wot to do but ask to Ur consultancy people or try n ask other consultancy people's ....

As I do not have much Exp as u in applying ...., Iam in the same boat whether I have to choose same IT diploma/masters again...

I been said by a consultancy that 'if u choose same IT related course u might not get accepted, instead u can choose the course which is not related to IT or more than masters like PHD...'

Finally today i got my CAIPS stating the reason and comments by the officer on the basis of which he rejected my application, here it is:

has completed masters of science at London Metropolitan University in UK.
IELTS 7.0, i would have expected much higher results after 1.5 years of study in UK, Came back to india on OCT 16 2012. Unclear why PA wants to do a collegial course after a masters from UK, i am therefore not satisfied that the applicant is not applying for unknown reasons other than sutdies and such would be a genuine student.weighing the information in hand over the specific case, the applicant has failed to establish that they are a bonefide temporary resident who will leave Canada following the completion of their studies pursuant to section R (1) (B) OF irpa REFUSED.


i got this rejection for applying for PGDIP in wireless networking from GB college, however i had clearly stated in my SOP that i want to do this course as my masters was based on wired technology and didnt cover wireless technology.

1. hopefully now you've learned the importance of SOP. Now, they do not even trust a certified bank loan (SPP: GIC is compulsory!) so how can they trust your A4 size SOP.
2. Your best shot is a Master degree. MBA is a general education, you do not need any specific background for it. Your choice?
