my friend heard about my plans to immigrate to Canada and is interested for himself. as much as I could try to identify his NOC I couldn't. so my question is, does an active military man stand any chances to qualify for Express Entry?

thank you

He stands the same chances as anyone else provided he has work experience that falls under NOC A, B or 0.

problem is he has ONLY worked in the military since his 18. that's his profession (if you can call it one).

That's not an issue. Again, as long as he has work experience through the military that is classified as NOC A, B or 0 - he can apply.

He has to figure out what his NOC is based on what he does or has done in the past in his jobs for the military (i.e. based on his job accountabilities).

I understand now. Knowing next to nothing about military, I guess they have their specialties (like radio comm or even doctors). If he, on the other hand, has been just "a soldier" (or whatever they're called) then he would not qualify (I guess) as there is nothing in the NOC list about army man, soldier or similar.

thank you again.

I was curious about this so I checked my secret fount of knowledge (coughGoogle), and there is NOC 4313, although it states Canadian Forces—not sure if this would be applicable for foreign military experience, doesn’t sound like it.

I saw that too. but I find it hard to believe it applies to candidate immigrants
