My husband is an American, we are going threw through a separation. He said that he is going to renew his temerary temporary visa and work permit.
How would I find out if he has used me as his wife to renew his permits? because do to this separation I have needed financial aide and will lose it if he still claims we are together.

If you have sponsored him, (it appears that he hasn't "landed" ) just write to CIC/CHC to withdraw your sponsorship.

Then it would appear that he got his work permit through another avenue other than sponsorship, so it doesn't involve you then does it?

The only reason he got it was because we got married, as far as I have been told if we are no longer married he does not have it. We are still married, just recently separated. Every reason on his previous applications has had to do with me.
I need to know how to find out that it has nothing to do with me this time.

How is his work permit related to you? Are you yourself a foreigner in Canada on a work permit or study visa and he is getting a work permit based on yours?

He was getting sent out of Canada because of a DUI several years prior, he was told that he shouldn't have even been aloud crossing the border, but he was already here so they gave him one week to leave the country, instead we got married before the week was up. Because of this marriage he was granted his permits.

What have you signed for him?

If you are a citizen or PR in Canada, you could have sponsored him for PR and that is pretty much the only thing he could have gotten from marrying you. There are no temporary work permits available for spouses of PR's and citizens.

If you are a temporary worker or student in Canada, he could have gotten an open work permit based on your permit as your husband.

I am a Canadian Citizen, his permit is temperary, every year he has to renew he was told that because of the DUI he could not apply for PR for 5 years, he has been here for 2, this would be his 3rd time applying for his temperary permit

If you are worried about it, you can call immigration and tell them you are separated and ask them if that will affect his permit. Maybe it will not but at least they can add this info to his file. I am still not quite sure what kind of permit he is on.
