Hello,

I could get my Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) which expire on 2020 Dec and currently working for a company in Canada.

Since I am looking for other opportunities everywhere not limited to Canada, I have wondered regarding residency requirements for PGWP.

I could find easily that Permanent resident status 5years requires 2years staying in Canada, however, it is extremely hard to find any information regarding PGWP.

What if I get a job outside of Canada and later come back to Canada within a year or two does it affect my PGWP status?

Thank you.

There's no residency requirement for a PGWP.

As Scylla said no residency requirement but still keep in mind that unless you are visa exempt you still need to maintain a valid TRV plus as a temp resident you will still be assessed by CBSA on each entry back into Canada.

As well as the valid TRV (if applicable), if you leave Canada for a year you will potentially lose points on the PR application for job experience.
