Hello,

I'm a perpective international student and planning to go canada.

But my primary intention is to get PR in canada not the masters degree. So, friends plz suggest me that what are the chances to get PR for international student.

I'm a civil engineer and this occupation has been eliminated in the new demand list of skilled worker catagories published by CIC. But I heard that after 1 year of full study in canada, international grauduates can still qualify to get PR either under Federal skilled worker program(FSW) or in Provincial Nominee program (PNP).

Keep in mind that I dont have any job offer/arranged employment by canidian employer.

Regrads.

It depends in which province u r gng if u r in quebec then u can get with 2 -years (Master's). But as u r saying civilis not included then for sure after Master's u r able to get it. Its gurantee.

U can try to get admission in Concordia (Montreal) Building Engineering once u r in Canada.
U can change ur university any time.

thanx samahmedpk2000 for ur reply.

But quebec is french speaking province in canada then how it would be possible to get PR in quebec without knowing french? and I heard that French is compulsory to get (CSQ) Quebec Selection Certificate as skilled worker. Have you some practical experience ? or u know some1 there ?

I am in Montreal and did the same. I have lots of friends here and they r doing the same.
Yes, u have to have basic knowledge of french but when u will be here during first year u can do some basic courses, its not difficult.
This is the only easiest way to get PR otherwise in other province its hard to get it. I have some friends they applied 2-years back and still wiaiting even they finished there degrees.

@samahmedpk2000

Bro even im interested in doing MEng in Industrial engg. from Concordia... But before I apply, I'm just curious if I would be able to meet the expenses.... Cuz I'm one of those who can afford the one time expense but I'm not sure if I would be able to get money from home for the whole course... Cuz what i've heard is that u can fetch ur living expenses from odd jobs but not the tuition fee.... So is there any way ??
What if a person gets there, completes half the course and doesnt have the money for the rest of the course ? Can he exceed the working hours limit (like many do in the US) or drop semesters and work full time ? (that also ive heard many students do but not many in canada) ???

Please do reply !

This is very interesting.

I am also applying for my masters and would like to get the PR later on. But my concern is that even if they give me the study permit will my husband get a work permit?

Also can someone tell after how many months can we apply for PR? I had thought we can apply after 8 months on a study permit and will get it in another two months, total a year or so.
Anyone who was in my position ?

Now maybe I should apply to a quebec college too just to make sure I get admission.

Hi,

I hope you are aware of the fact that under Quebec immigration, you will be called for one-to-one interview (only in french language) with immigration office.

I think its much better to check as of how many South Asian students manage to get Quebe PR in this way. I am talking about "facts" NOT "hearsay stories"
