What are my Step Children's odds???

Hi all,
I have a question and I'm wondering if there is anyone on this forum who has been in the same or similar
situation as I am. I have already applied for my husband via outand and we have been waiting for 11 months now.
My husband has 2 children from a previous relationship but has not had any contact with his children since they were very small. The mother left and never said where her and the children were going. We have since found out that the mother has passed away but we still don't know the children's whereabouts. We had to file his application without the children undergoing their medicals and we gave immigration all the reason's why the 2 children were not added to his application. I know that under the Immigration guide lines that my husband would not be able to sponsor his children in the future but if we were able to locate his children at some point in the future could we not try to bring them to Canada
since he is their only living parent? Any advice or info would be great. Thanks to all that respond! ;D

The rules are the rules.
How about withdrawing the application now that you still can and re-apply declaring them?. But this is only my 2-cents and assuming they can be located to begin with.

We don't know how easy they can be located or if they be can any time soon. Mexico seems very different then Canada when it comes to getting things done without such complications. Oh well, I guess that's a chance we had to take but good to know. Thanks!
