What are my real chances?

Hi,

I would like to hear some suggestions and advice from the Forum Users.

I have completed my master's program in Engineering recently in Canada and I have received a PGWP. Before to coming to Canada, I have had 2+ years of work experience, and I am currently looking for a job with my field, but the job market is not good.

Therefore, I got a temporary job and working as a Barista, which I believe falls into the C category in the NOC list.

My question is:

Having a Master's degree in Canadian University and 2+years of experience in my home country, what are my chances of applying for PR under Canadian Work Experience category? Like I said I am working as a Barista, which is in the C category not 0, A, or B category. I would like to apply for the PR with the C category despite that I have completed my master's degree in Engineering and whatnot...

Canadian Master's degree + 2 years of work experience+ and Canadian work experience working as a Barista for one year (C category)= PR??? What are the real chances of getting a PR card, and let's get real? If this option does not work then what would be your suggestions and advice?

Thanks!

Have you calculated your points under Express Entry? If not - you need to start there and report back once you know the total.

Thanks for your quick response! I just quickly calculated and it was 451. This point is based on the following:

a. Without no experience in the following:

i. How many years of skilled work experience in Canada do you have? It must have been paid and full-time (or an equal amount in part-time).

b. and with the following with my 2+years of experience in engineering

ii. How many years of skilled foreign work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation.

What are then my chances? Thanks.

You will not qualify for CEC with NOC class C experience. You may qualify for FSW due to you foreign experience. If you want to receive additional points for you Canadian experience, you should find a skilled job asap. Don't waste that PGWP on a job that doesn't qualify.

Only one that went through the hassle of getting a skilled job offer would now how difficult this is. Mansplaining is so annoying sometimes.

OP. Get all your documents ready and create your profile under the EE system ASAP. However, I feel compelled to ask you, Where did you get the Master's from? Because in Ontario you'll be eligible to apply for PR under the Provincial Nominee Program (OINP) International Students - Masters Graduates Stream.

Take a look and let us know whether that works for you.

Excuse me, but what OP stands for?
