What are my options?

Hello everyone, I have a bit of an issue. I applied for PNP via express entry and I am currently waiting for my portal credentials. I have responded to my P1 email on Nov 16 and I have been waiting for P2 email (credentials) for 19 days now. My provincial nomination is BC PNP. The problem is, I might be losing my job this week. I plan to inform BC PNP as soon as it happens. Will this affect my IRCC application? How long does BC PNP give you to find a new job? I'm already interviewing for jobs. I've been told by immigration consultants not to worry because BC gives about 90 days to find a new job and since I am waiting for credentials then my PR has been approved and I am just waiting for confirmation. I should still tell BC PNP but my PR will not be rejected because of it. Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

p.s. My work permit is valid until 2025 and I can work for any employer.

Yes that is generally how the process works. Once you inform the BC office they will give you time to find a new job (90 days). Plus given where you are in the process you are most likely to receive the copr before 90 days expire. It will not affect your PR application, in fact you should not inform IRCC unless you found a new job. So your option is to do what comes first. 1) inform BCPNP and hunt for a job in 90 days. 2) only inform IRCC of the new job if you get one before COPR is issued.

Thanks for the reply. I got laid off yesterday. I'll email BCPNP today. I have an interview tomorrow. Out of curiosity, what happens if I cannot find an eligible job in 90 days and I don't have my eCOPR yet? Will BCPNP withdraw my application and I have to start over from scratch? Thanks.

Yes, BC may withdraw the nomination and you may have to restart from scratch.

Wow. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. If only the people at VO Montreal didn't work like snails.
Montreal VO is one of the slowest processing Centre. However, they do pick up the pace in January. So you won't see anything until 2024.

Good news. I got my portal credentials 24 minutes ago. I'm so happy right now..
You still have to inform IRCC that you have been laid off. The fact that you are no longer employed and have no job offer can still impact your application. If you only recently emailed IRCC about your job loss the update was based on you being employed and having employment in the future. The update may be reasssessed once IRCC reviews your email about the job loss. I would focus on finding new employment. That is the best way to secure your PNP approval going forward.
