What are my options in this situation?

Hi everyone!

Current situation:

• Completed 1 year studies
• 9 Months left until Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) expires
• Current employer may or may not do LMIA

Here is what I think my options are:

1. Take another year of studies
2. Get employer to pay high-wage & do LMIA
3. Cohabit with Canadian boyfriend (Don't know)
4. Marry Canadian boyfriend
5. Use something other than Express Entry


Since I'm already 3 months into my PGWP work permit, is there any way that I can move in with my boyfriend, and we go the common law route?

What else can we do in this situation? The only reason I'm staying in Canada is for him. Worst case scenario we will get married, but we want to exhaust other options before doing this so that we can comfortably not have to jump 10 steps ahead of ourselved and take it nice and slow.

you have 9 months of PGWP, if you can score around or above 445 points on crs then you can easily get PR.

So what is your score now ?

Thanks H0peAndFa1th, I hope your holidays are going great. At the moment I have around 415 points. I'm looking at ways of bringing my score up (learning french, or anything else I can do).

If you move in with your partner, you can apply to change your status to visitor prior to your PGWP expiring in order to extend your stay and get the full year of cohabitation to become common-law.
