What are my chances to get a student visa?

Hi everyone!

I'm from a Third world country having a bachelor's degree in Business management from 2007. I have almost no work experience related to my field of studies. I live and work in Middle East for several years now. I want to apply for a diploma program in Canada (Saskatchewan) for not more than 2 years of study in other field (Computer Science).

What are my chances to get a student visa if I have enough money to cover my studies and living expenses for the duration of course if:
-Computer studies are not related to my previous studies.
-Is the length of course (2 years) good enough to get a student visa?
-I don't have a property on my name nor a job waiting for me after graduating in Canada.
-Will my child and wife who will not join me in Canada during my studies be enough to show ties with home country?
- I have applied once in 2009 for a visitor visa for Canada together with my wife and we both got refusals from Middle eastern office.

Could you please evaluate my chances of getting a student visa and advise me how to succeed.
Thank you all in advance!

hi,
1-why are you not choosing your related course while its a big rejection reason"your study is not reasonable with your previous....."
2-you did't mention that how is gap in your study....if its less then 2 year then don't worry but its grater then 2 year then you have to fill up the gap with strong reason.
3-after bachelor its very risky to go diploma program........why you don't chose master's as fees are cheap in master's level instead college....visa rates are also high for universities.....
4-you should show your family relation in your homeland....

Thanks all of you for replies!

Reasons for considering studies in a different program are:

1) not interested in the profession anymore ;
2)Gap between graduation and now is over 5 years-
3) For MBA, they want a high GPA in the preceding studies,
which I don’t have
4)I got my wife and kid in one country, and I got parents ,whose’ only child is myself, in another
Here again comes the question if the abovementioned reasons are enough to satisfy visa officers and getting a student visa?

Appreciate your kind suggestions!
Regards!

I think with respect to a different course of study u can certainly apply for it, however you would need to mention a short para or probably one page as to why would you like to pursue this course...
Do you have work exp in relation to computer science?? that will hold some imp key to ur choice of study/program...

U would need to go back to ur own country and apply and show some level of establishment like ur wife and children live and would want to come back...

What were the reasons given for ur refusals???

-I don’t have any provable work experience in my chosen field of study (computer science).

- I cant go back home-as my wife keeps working in Middle East and child is in her home country with her parents.

We applied for visitors visa before child was born and we got the refuasl stating; not enough ties... and not convinced we will leave Canafda after end of our visas

So u mean to say u and ur wife have been living in a different country???

M not really sure how are u gonna prove strong ties with ur home country?? I would suggest u to find a consultant and check with him to answer that question...

We work and live in a country in Middle East. We applied there and got refusals for visitor visa (before baby was born).
Question was if this refusal might have a negative impact on my intention to get a student visa.
