Does it automatically default to the sponsor's address? Or do you have to provide a Canadian address when you land?

Is it better to update eCAS before landing with the Canadian address so that it is in the system?

They will ask for the address when you land and enter it in the system at that point, so you can update your mailing address now, but that's where they will mail the COPR, not the PR Card.

Thanks Sweden! She already got her COPR. Thought I could just update the address ahead of time so they don't have to enter it in then but looks like the way to do it is when you land.

We gave our Canadian address when we landed, but our U.S. mailing address remained as the "mailing" address until I updated it in eCas. So, better to manually update thru eCas, IMHO.

I guess the thing that I am not sure of is if CIC is supposed to update the address that shows up on eCAS with the one you provide on landing. Or if the eCAS address has nothing to do with where your PR card is mailed.

Once you land, you have a few days to update the mailing address online. WHen I landed, I gave an address (my inlaws) as I didn't have my own place. But a few days after landing, I got a place, so I logged into ecas, saw the address I had given at the time of landing, and I updated the mailing address for the card directly online. But - if you already know your address now, you can ask the VO to update it, most likely the officer will check again with you to make sure it's correct.
