My story isn't unique- a lot of kids come to Canada as international students between the ages of 13 and 17, attend some middle school or high school here, and then off it university or college. In my case, a couple of high school study permits, one 4 year university study permit, PGWP too, and voila! 10 yrs and no PR.....but soon hopefully *crossed fingers and toes*

my reference letter just has my approx. annual salary and the working hours (up to 40hrs a week). However I handed in also my two work contracts (the second work contract ends December this year and will be renewed again if I'm doing well) saying I make an approx. annual salary of ..... and up to 40 hrs a week. My paystubs don't show hourly rate though!Do you think that's fine?
weeellll ... I hope your reference letter also includes job duties, and dates of hire...

please don't stress out about this (because you can fix this), but - it doesn't sound like you've given the VO enough information to know whether or not you meet the 12-month full-time requirement.

"Up to 40 hours per week" could mean 0 hours per week, 10 hours per week, 20... What the letter should have indicated was a minimum number of hours per week, not maximum. As well, if you are paid an hourly rate, it should have indicated that. Without an hourly rate, the VO cannot reverse calculate your hours from your T4s... The VO needs one or both pieces of information to determine your eligibility.

But never fear, you can fix this if you can get a new letter from your employer that provides these details. You can send it to the VO after you receive your AOR. Even if you don't submit this, the VO would probably either contact your employer or send you a letter requesting details rather than refusing your application on this basis (but "probably" is no guarantee).

I guess I assumed that your letter had the other info, since after reading this website your only concern was hours. But jes_ON is right, the other requirements should be included in the letter.

I disagree about the hours though, if Lisa_Visa90 has been paid the salary amount that the employer indicated would be paid to a full time person in the same position, it was safely be assumed that full time work was performed.....unless your employer is Santa Claus they won't pay you full time earnings if you don't earn it.

However, it typically doesn't hurt to err on the side of caution, so if you can obtain an amended letter, go for it. Question though: do the employment contracts contain this information? (hours worked)

So is it ok to add a letter to my application stating my hourly pay? Because I can't state my minimum hours per week, since I work every week differently. It is around 30 hrs a week but it could be this week more and next week 40 or even 45. So what would you suggest me to write or should I just leave out the hours???
