What about sponsoring my partner in the future?

Hello everyone,

Is it feasible to immigrate and sponsor my common-law partner in the future? If I apply alone, my score is 421. Enough to get Ontario Nomination. If I apply with him it drops 391. I could consider SINP but my education doesn't match my experience and I've seen people getting rejected for that.

So here is the escnario: I apply for myself mentioning that I am in a common law partnership and that my partner is not coming with me, and after a year of immigrating sponsoring him as my conjugal partner presenting immigration as the reason why we couldn't be cohabitating for the last 12 months. Is that possible?

I would present funds enought for two.

It's definitely possible.
But be aware that spousal sponsorship is a long process; it takes 18+ months.

Thanks a lot. We are aware and he is willing to sacrifice. Still considering all different option. If there's a way I won't get rejected from SiNP for my education/experience difference, we would then take that route together

Have you looked at other provinces ?
PEI and NB have the most lax eligibility requirements.

I looked into NB and I was actually very interested in the province itself, but I remember reading about needing to go an information session there even before applying.

You do have to go to an information session. But the sessions aren't in NB. They're held all over the world.
