There are so much problems and confusions involved in applying abroad for Higher Studies and Going there, like the one's I am having... So thank you to everyone who helps or tries to help others.... So many confusions ...

The course duration of M.Eng - Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western University is so confusing. In their website at some places they have clearly shown that, the course's expected duration is 6 terms (2 years). And in some places it's given it's a one year course. That is, International Full Time students can complete in one year.
One has to complete 8 courses and a project(worth 2 courses)... So totally its a 10 course program. Anyone have any idea how long will it tale to complete... Anyone currently studying at Western University kindly help me...
The problem is for visa...

"The program is flexible (students can take any number of courses per term, with preference being given to students who aim to complete the course requirement of 10 courses, or 8 courses and project, in one year)"

Seems like you can complete the whole thing within a year.

To clarify your confusion, I'll talk not on your program specific. If M.Eng program comprises of 10 courses and you take 3+3+4; you can finish it within a year. However, this may be hard on you. Some people don't do summer terms at all; hence they will attend school for 2 terms/year. Roughly, you would need 4 terms and an extra term if you plan either to have co-op/intern or a semester break.

Hi Rossie... Thanks for your reply...
The important thing is the course duration they put on the master's certificate... If they put it as a one year course, even if i take two years... Then there comes problems for visa, Job, etc, etc...

I understand now.

Verify it with the school. Tell them that it's for VISA purpose.

They replied which states.... "The course duration for purposes of applying for work permits would be the amount of time you actually spend studying, so the duration would be 6 terms, if you take courses and study for 6 terms".

They're right. The initial SP wouldn't matter much as you can always extend it from inside Canada. And if you're worrying about PGWP duration, it would depend on your graduation letter (which they already stated).
