Hello all,

I'm busy applying for WES equivalency.
My degrees are as follows:

Bachelors of Commerce: Economics (undergrad)
Bachelors of Commerce: Honours Economics (postgrad)
Master of Commerce: Econometrics (postgrad)

Should I only get the highest qualification verified? (Masters with coursework and mini-thesis)

Furthermore my wife's degrees are as follows:

Bachelor of Science: Geological Sciences (undergrad)
Honours in Geology (postgrad)
Master of Science in Engineering and Environmental Geology (postgrad)

Should she only get the highest qualification verified? (Masters by thesis only)

Thank you in advance for any help.

If you are going for Masters then WES ll need your Bachelors degree documents too.
So you ll need both your degrees to be evaluated by WES for getting Masters equivalent.

We both already have Masters, does that change anything? Would we still need to get bachelors as well?

For evaluation from WES you ll need both your degrees(masters, bechalors) evaluated by WES.

You will get points only for your highest degree. Even CIC states that you need to do educational assessment for your highest degree only but to be on the safer side you should do it for your bachelors as well.

You may want to get both evaluated to choose the '2 or more degrees, diplomas...' option if you have the following:

ECA assessment results:

A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificateFootnote 1
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diplomaFootnote 1
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Graduate diplomaFootnote 1
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1

not in every case....in my case I just sent my MBA degree which came back as Canadian equivilant masters..I did the same for my wife..in her case they asked for her bachelor's degree as well..and they didn't recognised her masters ...I was sure in my case because I had seniors from the same university who got master equivilant through wes earlier...so best to send both degrees..!!!

So, in a nutshell, just do our Masters. The problem for us doing bachelors and honours as well is that they are from a different university to our Masters, and it will be a real hassle doing them too. So if we basically only attain points for our highest qualification then I see no reason to do the others unless for some reason our Master's are not recognized.
