WES - seriously not recommended

I am starting this topic because I saw so many peers on this forum planning to use WES for ECA, and I seriously do not recommend WES, though it might take less time to get your credentials evaluated.

Before you decide to use WES, check out these reviews on Consumer Affairs.

OR you can simply google WES reviews, and you will see lots of major complaints about it.

Be careful with WES - you might have good experience with it, but a majority of us are realllly angry with its service.

Well,

I can assure you ICAS is MUCH MUCH worse.

WES delivers reports in 7 days after everything is there.

ICAS took 4 monthts - and their report was wrong!

I got my ECA done last May from WES and they were pretty good. I can't compare them with anyone (only used the service once) but they were good. Got what I needed. A little expensive but then I saw the competitors and they were just as or more expensive.

I started my assessment before Christmas, man, you should see the look on my face when I found out that the first draw is at the end of January and assessment may take weeks. .

I chose CAS(?) initially but then I read all the reviews about their turtle, or even snail speed, and I applied for WES too.

That is the best $200 I have ever spent. Already received result in the mail and applied for EE. Can't recommend them enough, but their email response is slow though, but who care, they process fast.

I had no issues with WES, after receiving copies of my certificates from me and transcripts from my Universities it took 2 days for the assessment to be completed and the following day I received my physical report.

I'm guessing it varies based on where you studied, there are probably additional checks for some institutions, I'm not sure.

My application is in "Evaluation in Progress" stage for last 5 days. But the required documents for my degree is still "Not Recieved" statge.

Is this normal? The page says update will happen in 48 hours

I had no problem with WES, they actually did the evaluation in 2 days after receiving all supporting documentation, so total time was like 3 weeks? may be less.

The only thing that I think is unclear to me right now, is that on the top of the report only says Bachelors 4 years, and I sent 2 credentials, the bachelors in Systems Engineering(4 years) and a diploma in systems administration(3 year degree) whichc was a prerequisite for the bachelor.

jejej.. soo, don't no if I should pick 1 or 2 post secondary credentials on the App.


But apart from that, everything was fine.

If you have got both your credentials evaluated and have received a positive equivalency report for both, you should choose 2 post secondary credentials. Otherwise simple select 'Bachelors'.

Actually that's what I did. I selected only bachelors.

But then it got me thinking like, hey I sent 2 credentials, could it be that the "Bachelors 4 year degree" written on the top of the report means that's the highest degree achieved and I should pick the other option?

Anyways, I haven't changed my profile, cuz the draw is really close and I'm not gonna risk it, but perhaps for the next one, I should consider this option don't you guys think?

I was stuck with CES UoT, they took 5 months to produce my report after several e-mails, they even don't know that my institute sent them my documents.

I missed the last stream only due to the CES :'( while there was 500 cap were left empty in my NOC.

You clearly should select 2 post secondary degrees! That should also up your score by few points! If I were in your place I would have updated my profile with immediate effect, regardless of the draw as updating takes only a few minutes and the changes come in effect right away. But like I said earlier, totally your call!
