Hi,

I have following questions about WES:

  1. If I have master's degree from USA, should it use this website (https://www.wes.org/) to get my credentials report? There are lot other alternatives on canada immigration website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/education-assessed/how.html), why is this preferred one?
  2. I need to select IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) option on WES right?
  3. How long is this evaluation valid for?
  4. If my spouse is a dependent on my application and has masters degree from USA, does she still need to have her credentials evaluated?
  5. Do I need to get my bachelor's credentials evaluated?
Thanks

1) Wes is typically the fastest. You can check the 2019 WES timeline/tracking thread for current timelines. Do not get tricked by their "35 business days processing time". This applies after all documents have been received, reviewed and approved. So, you have to take into account the time it takes for your university to ship the documents, wes review process (anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, maybe more these days) and then begins the 35 days countdown.
2) Yes.
3) 5 years.
4) Only if you are claiming points for her education, if not, no need for ECA.
5) No.

1. Yes. WES is preferred as it is presumably faster than others.
2. Yes.
3. 5 years.
4. Yes, if you want to claim points.
5. No according to other posters on other threads previously, but I did nonetheless just in case.

I have received my degree evaluation for my USA Masters degree for IRCC Canada immigration. But my report does not mention the number of years for my degree. Is that the normal format of the report?
Group members, please let me know if anyone else has had a similar report. It would be great help.
Thank you
Best

Members please suggest do we really need a WES report for spousal PR considering the fact my wife is a US citizen and she studied in the USA.
