Hi All,

I have applied for the Educational Credential Assessment. the application is now completed and i received the PDF report and now waiting for the paper report.

the assessment went for the whole degree. and the assessment was:

Credential Authentication: Official transcripts were sent directly by the institution
Country: Egypt
Credential: Bachelor Degree
Year: 2008
Awarded by: Al-Azhar University
Institution Status: Recognized
Major/Specialization: English Interpretation
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

i know saw another type of the assessment on the WES website, which is course-by-course assessment.

my question:

which type is needed for the skilled workers application? is my above one sufficient?

thanks

You are good with this order at WES, for immigration this is what is needed by CIC.
Also this report (PDF) is only for your reference and probably can be used just for provisional purpose. You will require the ECA# (written on the top/right of the PDF report) to mention in the application.
Wait for the paper based report to be delivered, which is treated as original report.

Thank you very much.

I have another question. i am married and I will apply as the main applicant. my wife has just finished her BA degree and she does not speak English and she does not have any work experience yet. when i apply, i will be the main applicant. i will chose that my wife will not come with me at first. in this case, should i make the Educational Credential Assessment for my wife also?

If you show that your spouse isn't coming with you, still there are few requirements (like PCC, Medical, Proof of Fund etc) that needs to be fulfilled for spouse as well (may also applicable to children) but ECA (also IELTS) isn't among that list.
ECA/IELTS are needed if you want to get points benefit from 'Spouse Factors'.

You can use below tool to calculate the score with and without ECA and/or IELTS scores of your spouse:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Also go through these links for:
a. Immigration Eligibility (FSW): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp
b. Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Criteria: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

Thank you very much.

i used the tool to calculate the score and the score was "Grand total = 343"

do you think these are sufficient points?

Way less than minimum points that CIC has ever set cutoff (450 points).
Start looking for other options like province nomination.

Thank you.

Also, I have been accepted in a college in Ontario for post-graduate certificate in Project Management for one year full-time study. I am thinking of coming first as a student, and finish one year study, then have a post graduation work permit and after this apply as province nomination or Canadian experience. until this, i will apply as skilled worker and see what will happen.

what do you think about this plan?

Keeping your profile active is no harm, however before you can submit your 'COMPLETE' application, it may cost you some time and money.... For example getting WES-ECA and PCC done....
And regarding your plan, it sounds better...
All the best..!!

Thank you very much.

another small questions. i have 4 years of self-employment. i read about the qualification at the CIC website for this category and i see that it matches my qualifications.

do you have any idea about how much money needed for this category?

is there a points system for the federal self-employment category?

can i apply for federal skilled worked and federal self-employed at the same time?

For Self-employed category, since they've not specifically mentioned, Proof of funds still should be based on 50% of LICO (low income cut-off), check this here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

is there a points system for the federal self-employment category?
Looks like no, NOT SURE though.

can i apply for federal skilled worked and federal self-employed at the same time?
YES (based on my knowledge of, we can have multiple applications in different categories), however I'll recommend you to confirm with CIC or let other experience member comment on this.

PS: I don't have explored this particular option for me, hence have limited knowledge.
