Hey Guys,

I am new comer to this forum and have gone through the forum to collect relevant information relating to immigration.
I am collecting information for my brother. He has completed ACCA degree in 2012 and has afterwards completed Bsc OBU degree. He is now going to claim membership

a). As per my research, I saw evaluation result as shared by one member back in 2015. As per him, WES awarded him two bachelor degrees (4 years) for ACCA alongwith BSC OBU.

Is this still valid?

Further as per my understanding while checking scoring in CRS tool.
In education tab, he will be selecting. "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees ..... "
RIght?

b). Moreover, For myself, I have completed CA (Pak) plus I have BA 2 year private graduation from Punjab University.

Can I claim points for both of them and will I be falling in same category. "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees.... "?

a) Yes its valid. for ACCA you'll be awarded 4 years bachelors and same for BSc from OBU. What you need to ensure is apply for ACCA membership and then apply for WES.

Correct per CRS tool you need to select 'Two or more degrees'.

b) ICAP is assessed as 3 years certificate and BA from Punjab Uni / Karachi Uni or any equivalent is assessed as 2 years bachelors. Anyhow that serves the purpose, you'll be able to select 'Two or more certificates' as the criteria is that you have to have 1 degree/certificate that is for 3 years or more and other one of two years - you are at breakeven ;). Go ahead.

Good luck.

(Off topic - There's never ending debate in Pak if ACCA is better or ICAP, am sure you brothers must have had similar discussions. Evaluate yourself which one is heavier in international market ;).

And btw also inform you brother to apply for reciprocal CPA as he's ACCA. Not sure if you can or not :P)

Thank you Farhan for your detailed and comprehensive reply.

I am happy that my BA qualification will be paying me off here Insha Allah :)

I have further question regarding the "experience profile"

a). My Brother has following experience.

(Jan 2012 - Jun 2014) - Assistant Manager taxation

(Jul 2014 - Dec 2015) - Assistant Manager Audit & Assurance

(Jan 2016 - Present) - Senior Officer Accounts

Does he qualify for "3 or more years experience" and what NOC will be most relevant to apply and what rule does NOC play in invite?

b). As far as my experience is concerned:

(May 2012 - November 2015) I have 3.5 years experience as external auditor (Pre qualification experience)

(Jan-2018 - Present) - External auditor (Post qualification experience)

Do I qualify for "3 or more years experience" and what NOC will be most relevant to apply ?

(Off topic: haha yes agreed with you, this is a very debate-able topic. But global presence of ACCA is really appreciable. They really are up to the mark. On the other hand, ICAP is also approaching International bodies for MOU i.e. ICAEW, CA ANZ, CPA Canada. Its never too late)
