Hi,

I have done 3 Year Under Graduate Diploma in Footwear Technology after my 12th from FDDI (Footwear Design and Development Institute).

It is a recognised Institute with a status of INI( Institute of National Importance) a status given to all IIT's, NIT's, AIIMS, IIM's.

I wanted to know the (WES) canadian equivalency for the same. Does it considered as Diploma or Degree?

3 year diploma after 10th is equal to 2 year Canadian diploma

secondary school diploma and diploma (2 years) = Word "and" is the key. here is break-up

Secondary school diploma = 10th
diploma (2 years) = 3 year Indian diploma
bachelor 4 years. = 3/4 year Indian Degree.

Now you have 2 or more degrees [diploma (2 years) & bachelor 4 years] out of which one need to be three years.

diploma (three years) equals to Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or . other institute. You need to select this option on the express entry.

Yes. They are wrong. Most of the consultants do not have basic knowledge about certain things. They just give some wrong information without knowing. Educational credential assessment in canada website says exactly Diploma (three years) equals to "Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or . other institute"


If It is a Diploma (three years).You should select "Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or . other institute" in express entry. You do not need to ask any consultancy. It is so clear.

Before most people got Canadian Equivalency as Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years) for 3 years diploma after 10th. But You got Canadian Equivalency as Secondary school diploma and diploma (three years). May I know How you got diploma (three years) for 3 years diploma after 10th? Could you please tell which board you completed the diploma from? I completed three years of Diploma from State board of technical education and training in Andhara Pradesh.

hi all right now i am in big confusion please help and suggest me.

I have done 3 years bachelor degree ( Bsc IT ) From Maharashtra, INDIA. and having 3 years of experience working in TCS.

so my concern is that i have done only 3 years degree as per highest education and to raise my CRS scroe i am thinking to do PG diploma in International business from Pune university ( UGC approved ).

so my questions are that,

- is doing PG diploma 1 year in India is applicable is WES.

- did it help me for raising CRS score if my doing full time 1 year PG diploma.

- and did Canada accepts 1 year PG diploma is equivalent to a degree after doing 3 years of bachelor.

- is doing 3 years of bachelor degree and 1 years diploma wll consider as 2 degree and i will get more CRS score ?

please suggest me will be very thankful to you.

Yes, you can get a 1 year PG diploma evaluated at WES.

No, it will not help as for claiming points for "two or more degrees" one program must be of at least 3 years, and your diploma is considered only 2 years.

Yes, 3 years Bachelor's and 1-year diploma will be considered as "two or more degree".

My knowledge with WES is as below:
1). I have read some posts suggesting that 3 year's diploma is considered as a Bachelor's degree when your Diploma is after 12th.
2). In some cases, a PG diploma is evaluated as just a six month's Diploma, however, the program must be of at least 1 year to claim points in "two or more degree"

Suggestion: Create an account on WES, creating accounts is free you need not pay, go to check equivalency tool select the country and check its equivalency in CANADA.

Thanks for your reply and please guide me also.

right now my points are not that much to file Express entry so for now i am filing through PNP process if its done that great and if only if not so for that i am thinking to do 1 year PG diploma so that if encase PNP won't happen then later i can file Express entry with good score with my PG diploma.

so now i am stuck in that from which institution should i need to do my 1 year PG diploma and and and is that 1 year PG diploma (
distance/regular) in India is valid in Canada and for WES also.

i have also checked in equivalent tool, so many of the universities are there eg. Pune, mumbai and etc well knows universities.

so when i went to check PG diploma that are also present but i am confused in that, is 1 year of PG diploma is valid or they are talking about 2 year PG diploma.

so i thought my 3 years of degree and 1 year of PG diploma will help me in CRS score.

and also if 1 year PG diploma is applicable then can i do PG diploma from IGNOU.

Please suggest me, will be thankful to you.

But how WES will define in its certificate as WES is not assess HSC or 12th ?
Even it is not assess ITI .
The minimum is Diploma .
As i have 12th+ITI+Diploma.
what do i have to send for WES?

I've completed my 10th in 2007 and then my 12th in 2009. Then went for polytechnic diploma in electronics engineering for 3 years. Basic qualification for polytechnic admission was based on 10th mark. Can anyone tell me what will be my WES evaluation result
