WES ECA for UK Top Up Degrees, HND, BCS (HEQ) and UK MBA

Hi ,

I'm following Top up MBA (specialized in Finance ) in University of Bedfordshire UK . This is level 7 Masters degree and I'm getting 180 credits .

I have doubt since , I' have not completed degree prior to this MBA and I got the eligibility to follow this MBA, since I have completed AAT Sri Lanka and got the membership ,also completed CA sri Lanka Executive level and I have experience of 4 year as Finance Manager in Maldives.

So If WES evaluate my prior learning will they give any value to AAT Sri Lanka qualification and CA sri Lanka Executive level. Will they recognize my MBA as masters degree in Canada

Will WES accept those as a 1 year MBA ??

• Pearson BTEC HNC/HND (QCF Level 5/ Level 4)
• UK Top Up Degrees (Level 6 120 Credits)
• BCS (HEQ) qualifications (including BCS Dip/PGD Project)
• MBA/ Masters Degrees completed in UK or partner universities (Level 7)

After completing that im going to do my top UP MBA at university of gloucestershire
Please tell is this top up MBA will accredited by WES as a Canadian MBA

Dear all,
In 2019, I submitted my 1-year Diploma course and my Bachelor's degree to WES for evaluation.
However, the Canadian Equivalency result was only Bachelor's Degree (four years) because they didn't count my 1-year diploma.

My concern now is that I am currently taking level 6 specialist diploma from OTHM (ref. https://www.othm.org.uk/othm-level-6-occupational-health-safety.html) and I just want to have an idea what will be the result if I submit this to WES for evaluation. Thanks in advance.

I have completed a MBA degree from UK University many years ago. Due to the immigration regulation that i need to proceed the application with a recent post-secondary degree, if I take a MBA Top-up (UK) with 60 credits (dissertation) and finally get the master degree. Will WES ECA recognise the "new" degree as a master degree in Canada? Do I need to submit the previous MBA degree for their credit assessment? thanks.

I am about to commence an online B.Eng on Electronic & Computer engineering with an Institute of Technology in Ireland. The details of the bachelor's program are:

• Two years study length
• NQF Level 8
• 60 Credits

NQF 8 is equivalent to EQF 6 which is bachelor's degree in Europe.
Please what would be the WES evaluation for this programme?
Please note: I also have a HNC certificate from a UK institute

My wife also doing Pearson BTEC Level 07 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership six month course (60 credits) in ESOFT Sri Lanka.Prior to this
she completed BCS International Higher Education Qualification - Diploma Level (UK NQF level 5-academic equivalent of year-2 of an Honours Degree in England )
any idea what would be the WES results on this ?

General thumb rule is your 120 UK credits will translate into one year PG Diploma in Canada, However you need to do some research if Canada has a diploma in the similar specialization. For example if you choose a 120 UK credits course in finance & accounting or strategic financial management etc, these courses are available in Canada too thus its a sure shot your ECA will show one year PG diploma. In your case business strategy is the specialization so you need to do some research about the same.

it is a specialized qualifications from OTHM so i wanted to confirm whether it is valid for Canada WES ? Anyone knows please reply

Incomplete information. Please let us know the full name of the university or awarding body and the name of the course. Just 120 credits won't do the trick!!

I hope you are all in good health. I need assistance with the eca evaluation from WES.

I obtained an Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering from Aptech and used it to obtain a B.SC of IT from Middlsex University. My transcript shows that I received two years of exemption for years one and two from Aptech, and that I studied at Middlex University for the third year.

Now I've discovered through online research that the Aptech Diploma will not be evaluated by WES.

I need advice on how to proceed, specifically whether I should use another company to evaluate my degree or whether I should only send my bachelor's degree for evaluation and not the Aptech diploma.

I have done my HND LEVEL 5 and want to know my options. My institute recommends me to study PGD level 7 instead of top up bachelors degree.
If I do that, will WES accept PGD level 7 as post graduate diploma? or are they gonna ask about Bachelors as well?

Yes no problem.
I've got credits exempted for my L7 diploma and got it evaluated as a full one-year postgraduate diploma.

On top of that, you only need an extra 60 credits, usually a master dissertation, to get a full master's or MBA degree.

I have done HND level 5, WES evaluated it as 2 years diploma.. now if i skip top up bachelors and proceed with PGD level 7 directly which is 120 credits.. will WES accept it as PGD 2 years diploma?

Hi, so I have HND level 5 evaluated as 2 years diploma. I wish to continue PGD level 7 from Pearson. WES will credit it as post graduate diploma? I don't have bachelors. My pathway to PGD Level 7 is directly from HND and my work experience.
