WES Document Review Status

My documents were received by WES on March 6th as per DHL POD. However, they changed the status to "Documents received - review in progress" on March 10th. After that there is no update from their end. I have sent them multiple emails through the Email WES option and every time they replied to check the status online.

Can anyone please let me know what is the meaning of review in progress status, does it mean they have started the evaluation or it will change to evaluation in progress status once they start the evaluation process? Also, it would be great if someone could help to identify the different steps involved in the WES evaluation process.

Thanks in advace

This means they are reviewing your documents to make sure they are complete and acceptable for evaluation.

The next update in the status is usually "Evaluation in Progress". Once this becomes your status, it takes 20 business days for them to complete the evaluation.

It has been 11 business days and my application is still not in evaluation status. I wonder how long they will take to complete the evaluation. This is really frustrating. Is there any better way to communicate except "Email to WES" option?

I have read that they are a little better in giving response on twitter. You can try that.

Their twitter handle at least responds compared to their direct web contact, @WESCanada, they might give you a timeline

It's been more than 4 months and I haven't received the physical ECA report yet from WES. I should have gone with DHL option (but I chose Canada mail). I assume that it's lost now.

Although as per some discussions, we don't need physical copy as we need to put WES ECA reference number during e-APR, but I have checked that many recommend to upload the scanned report along with educational documents.

There is a confusion about importance of uploading the ECA report.

Can someone confirm if there's any difference between physical copy and the soft copy(download from WES)? Should I just upload the soft copy if it's that important to upload because I don't want the application to get rejected, or should I order a duplicate report from WES?
You do not need to upload your ECA. CIC website mentions that. All you need is to mention the ECA report number. If necessary, they will ask you to upload a copy at a later stage. Also, you can try to order a duplicate report from WES.

People should be aware that WES is deceiving people.

The 20 business days they state on their website is far from the truth. Even after they physically receive the documents, it takes about 20 business days to "accept" the documentation. THEN, the 20 business days for evaluation begins. Be wary of this misrepresentation.
