Hi,

As the title reads, I'm back in the uk on vacation till the 18th but I left my PR card at home.

As I understand it my options are:

Apply for a temporary pr travel visa one time entry.
Risk it and print out my COPR and hope the border person is forgiving.
Ask my friend to courier my PR card to the UK from Canada.

Any thoughts on the best option?

Thanks in advance.

1.- do you have enough time?
2.- do you have your CoPR still valid?
3.- faster and riskier

I think option 3 is my best short term option.
I can't find my COPR on email so perhaps it was sent via letter?
The travel document takes way longer than my planned trip. If the pr card gets lost in the mail I'll have to go through the travel document option and then apply for new card on my return.

Thanks for asking the right questions. :)

1. Will likely take more than a week to get a PRTD but you could try.

2. Not an option. You won't even be able to board the plane to Canada without a valid PR card or PRTD.

3. Best option.

put the card in a protective envelop
then use a hard envelop to send it
don't use regular mail
don't say you're sending the PR in Canada (sending by mail)

I would get it mailed to the UK, shouldn't take that long and use tracked of course....worse case delay your return until it arrives...seems better than the chance of not getting back into Canada!

Probably take about a week to send standard mail from Canada to UK so if mailed Monday 11th will be touch and go if you get it by 18th, could be lucky and get it by the weekend no way to predict of course. Could always try a courier but at a cost of course.

I would take the hit and get it couriered then, the stakes are too high to not get the PR card. Bit risky going standard mail and the costs of changing flights far more than a courier.
