She is basically able to travel anywhere with a British passport and entry back into Canada with the PR card and there is no risk of losing citizenship there, even if she becomes a Canadian citizen she will still maintain British citizenship (dual).

She has a British passport, so can travel freely along with the PR card. The only thing she can't do with the PR card is vote here. We wouldn't want to pay $630 if they intend to abolish the fees soon, waiting another year or 2 is not going to make any difference

My wife landed 8 months ago and her mycic still says the same thing as yours. So assume it won’t be updated, there’s nothing wrong, the letters they send out about AIP and landing are the main thing.

Are you sure it’s not the landing appointment? Sounds like it to me given every else you have said. And mycic will not likely update the eligibility, my wife landed last year and mycic still says the same thing about eligibility.

There are only a few bars to being a sponsor which you can read at the link kcward gives above, so you’re good if you don’t fall into any of those categories. Just read through the many helpful application guides and double and triple check when filling out the forms, thankfully the process now...

If you apply inland with OWP you don’t need to worry about visitor status as the OWP gives her a valid status. You can also apply Outland whilst she is staying in Canada as a visitor, and honestly if you need to extend visitor status during that time it’s highly unlikely to be refused, many...

Sorry..... what?? There’s no law here (or most western countries) saying you must change your surname, most will do, some may even combine both surnames, and some continue to use their own surnames.

I guess you are still technically married though? so it’s not like you lied. We basically overthink everything during this process, you are in a good position, you still have valid status and doing all the right things in a timely manner to keep your status and progress to becoming a PR.

Nothing really, it’s just to verify you and your sponsors identity, sign some paper work, bit of chit chat and welcome to Canada. Takes no more than 10-15 minutes. It’s not an interview, the decision has all ready been made to grant PR, nothing to worry about at all.

No, unless they decide to issue a visitor record when he arrives which could shorten his stay from the normal 6 months allowed. Even then you can easily extend a stay by applying for an extension. But I doubt he would be issued a visitor record if it’s his first time coming to Canada, likely...

The sponsor doesn’t need any account. Sponsor may or may not get emails from them such as AOR and SA. In my case (sponsor) I never got any AOR and a belated SA email, but this came several days after my wife had gotten DM and landing emails.
