It takes about 40 days for Mississauga to approve your sponsorship application. I am presuming you are applying outland, no? Then they send it off to the visa office of the country that will process the PR application (that could take 2-3 weeks). After this it sits at the visa office until someone looks at it. This could take anywhere from 2 months to 14 months or even more, depending on which visa office processes. Plus, there could be delays and all that that could make the times longer!

And yes, you should send ALL documents when you send it to the office in Mississauga. I think some things you can send later on, like if anything changes in your situation or you wish to provide new evidence to support the application.

I don't think that is grounds for refusal, as long as you clearly state how you feel about eachother and provide enough proof that you really have a genuine r/s.

It's not like marriages where someone's family member doesn't approve are uncommon, I'm sure CIC has seen cases of these. But my advice is to just be honest and do show where you two have a strong marriage. Also like someone above said, I don't think your wife's helper is giving you guys accurate advice.. I would say a lot of people on this forum are very helpful.
