Unfortunately my question "Can we now expect the threshold of 450CRS points to drop since there is no more 600 points for LMIA but only 50-200" was not answered, but the presenter said that until now 450 was minimum to get invited and that should be something to aim for. I was hoping to get 600 with lmia but now with only 50 Im below 450. But theres a lot of people like that i assume, can we also
assumr the points threshold to drop?

The score will drop eventually, but not the next round and there are a lot of people in the 450-500 range (after Nov 19) a lot of international students have got 30 additional points!

Best of luck!

It's very hard to say that the CRS Score will ever drop down to 450 again. The reason being, since all the International Students in Canada will now be getting 15-30 points, plus a lot more people inside Canada are getting good results in IELTS. (I have seen students around me, who have given IELTS 3rd and 4th time, just to score the highest) Now all those people are in 460-470 range.

If you have LMIA, that's great. I would suggest to go with IELTS and score high that you cross the threshold of 450.

My IELTS test is 7. My CRS is 283 without LMIA. LMIA is about to be applied for, so if positive (NOC B) I get 50 points now (and not 600) so my total would be 333. Isn't there more people like me that all they had was positive lmia and 600 points? Is there really that many students and we really cannot expect the threshold of 450 to drop? Also how much more can I improve my current CRS if I get better IELTS?

Which province are you in? You can try local PNP, since 333 seems way too low.

I understand but until now there was a lot of people in the pool with 600 points from LMIA and they were keeping the threshold at 450 no? Since this will not be the case anymore, once students get in is it really not to expect this will drop significantally? Theres 550 points gap to be filled

I am in Alberta but PNP takes way to long isn't that correct? You still get 600 points (confirmed tofay on this webinar) but between applying and get results is more than a year?

600 points are not awarded anymore, for LMIA. Maximum is 200 for senior managerial occupations, and 50 for other LMIA jobs.

Yes, thats what Im saying. Less points now for lmia. Less points overall. Maybe lower threshold of CRS to get invited? Thats my point
